As the official release of Windows 8 is fast approaching, tablet war is heating up the market. In addition to Microsoft’s own unique hybrid Surface tablet, tech giants have started to debut their devices optimized to the upcoming operating system. iYogi has done a roundup of Windows 8-based hybrid tablets that are best in terms of form factor, designs, features and functionalities.  

Dell XPS Duo 12
Lift the display and the monitor will swivel and rotate to your finger touch. iYogi recommends Dell XPS Duo 12 hybrid tablet for its innovating rotating display that dazzles objects with 12-inch full HD resolution. iYogi also outlines other top worth mentioning features of Dell XPS Duo 12  such as, full-sized keyboard, touchpad, touch support of Windows 8 OS under the hood of aluminum built body with carbon fiber surrounding. Processor will be range up to Intel Core i7.

Toshiba Satellite U925t
iYogi picks Toshiba Satellite U925t hybrid tablet for its 12.5-inch Gorilla Glass display that slides to open a full-sized keyboard. The screen docks on the keyboard and the touchpad. This Windows 8 hybrid tablet has a 3MP rear camera to enable you to capture shots and a front HD webcam for video chats. Toshiba Satellite U925t will launch with a powerful combination of Intel Core i5 CPU, 128GB solid state drive to deliver fast performance. You can also expect two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI connectivity, built-in NFC, Toshiba Windows 8 apps, 3D acceleration, gyroscope and magnetometer.

Samsung Series 5 and Series 7 Slate 
For Samsung loyalists, iYogi picks two Samsung Series 5 and Series 7 Slate tablets. Both Windows 8-based hybrid tablets will feature S Pen with Samsung’s S Note app. Both tablets are powered by Intel Atom processor and will include common features like HD display (Series 5 has a 1366 x 768 screen while Series 7 will display with full HD display).


iYogi also recommends considering other Windows 8-based hybrid tablets like ASUS Transformer AiO Windows 8 (dual-boot) tablet, HP Envy X2 Windows 8 tablet, Samsung ATIV Windows 8 tablets, and Sony VAIO Duo 11 tablet and Tap 20 AIO.
